Mattress Recycling & Pickup in Normal, IL
Replacing a mattress or moving out of a Normal home or apartment? Kernovate offers paid mattress and box spring pickup in Normal and scheduled drop-off in nearby Bloomington. Our nonprofit recovers materials from old beds and supports local families through the BEDS program.
Mattress Recycling for Normal Residents
Normal residents can use Kernovate when replacing a bed, clearing out a spare room, or moving between apartments. Students leaving off-campus housing near Illinois State University can book the same residential service. We are based in neighboring Bloomington; pickup brings the service to your Normal address, while drop-off is an option if you can transport the items yourself.
Pickup and Drop-Off Pricing
Recycling is $10 per piece. A mattress and a box spring count as two pieces, so dropping off a set costs $20. Pickup adds one zone fee based on distance from our Bloomington base: $20 for up to 15 miles, $40 for over 15 to 30 miles, $60 for over 30 to 45 miles, or $80 for over 45 to 60 miles. The booking form checks your exact address and displays the total before payment.
Prefer to bring your items to us? Schedule a Bloomington drop-off for $10 per piece with no pickup zone fee. Appointments are required; available hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM. Your booking details provide the current location and arrival instructions.
Accepted Mattresses and Box Springs
We accept innerspring, memory foam, and hybrid mattresses, plus box springs and foundations, in standard sizes from twin to California king. We cannot accept bed-bug infested, wet, water-damaged, soiled, or heavily stained mattresses. Keep items dry and contact us at info@kernovate.com or 309-846-1070 before booking if you are unsure about their condition or an unusual item.
Booking Pickup for a Home or Student Apartment
Choose pickup in the online scheduler, list each item, enter your Normal address, and select an available date and time. Review the item charges and pickup zone fee, then complete payment. Include apartment entry details or stairs in your booking and have the items ready for collection. For dormitory cleanouts or multiple-unit property turnovers, explore commercial mattress recycling and contact our team to plan a bulk collection.
Recycling That Supports the Local Community
Kernovate deconstructs mattresses and box springs, separating materials such as steel, foam, fiber, and wood for recovery. Our recycling work supports the BEDS program, which provides beds to eligible families through partner-agency referrals. If you need a bed rather than recycling pickup, visit the BEDS page to learn about the referral process.
